A happy Easter break around here is one where you finally tick things off lists. Upstairs is a list like Tetris. Big tick number one - finally finishing Edie's room so we can get her into the big girl's bed, get the bed out of the nursery to get that all set up and Edie's old cot in there and her old cupboard etc. etc. etc. blah blah blah.
I am so pleased with how her wee room has turned out. I'll walk you through the bits and pieces. The bed cost $20 from an oppie - came up a treat with the paint. The cupboard came from a second hand store and looks so much better painted. The pram in the corner was my Mum's when she was a little girl, then ours and now Edie's. My sister, who had never really sewn in her life whipped up that quilt and presented it to me at my baby shower - it is one of my favourite things. The puppets on the walls were collected in Dunc and my travels through India and Nepal - formerly known as the 'footloose and fancy free years'.
Tomorrow Dunc is back at Uni so I am going to attack the nursery and finally feel that if I went into labour tomorrow it wouldn't catch us with our pants well and truly down in the organisation department.
Got to head upstairs to check on my wee girl in her first night in her big girl's bed. Hope your Easter break was grand.

Oh Edie's room looks gorgeous! You must be very pleased & I love the wardrobe and bed. Hope you are feeling well.
Hope your first Big Girl Sleep goes well. The room looks beautiful and Edie is very lucky!!!
A veritable nesting frenzy - obviously! Edie’s nest is the cat’s pyjamas. Beginning to think my childhood suffered due to lack of teepee...
Looks like a lovely big room for playing in and nice and light too. Your sister's quilt is terrific. Cherrie
A beautiful Big Girl's Room ! That bed was a true find .
Hope you're managing to put your feet up occasionally . I hesitate to tell you this , but feel someone should ..... it might get a little busy when the twins arrive .
Seriously , you're sounding serene and on top of everything . Nest-building suits you !
It's beautiful Gemma! All of it.... I love the Teepee and the quilt. Edie is a lucky girl. Hope she had a good sleep in her big bed. Good luck with the pending labour... I certainly don't envy you there, although the result definitely negates that! Take care, Cathy XX
Oh my, that's just too beautiful! I hope the Big Girl sleeping is a success. Edie must be excited too. :)
Love it. Beautiful and makes me envious to have a tidy little girl's room like that! Did you happen to look in Chloe's door this morning? Arrgh!
It looks AWESOME!! How well as it all come up - you've done the room proud with your photos! Hope Edie is settling into the 'big girls bed' OK.
What a very happy bright room Edie has ...i think she will be happy to be in that lovely bed with her very special swen with love quilt.... love the tepee too.
It's perfect! Are you going a little insane nesting? I am. I am cleaning things I would never give a second thought to and I am scouring eBay and op shops and road sides for furniture 'bargins.' Given our house is full, I am not sure why! Builders here this week to put in a new doorway and I have just hired a gardener to 'nest' for me outdoors. I am officially mad! Only 2 or 3 weeks to go! How long for you?
it's got the look I just love, and all the more so as items like the pram and quilt have sentimental significance. my Duncan and I wern't as good shoppers on our trips (sadly) as I was often forced to go with a small pack. Great job, and looking forward to seeing the nursery!

ooh everything looks so good! Well done!! Have been trying to decide if I should paint my Munchkin's bed red too, and after this post I think I will. Thanks for the inspiration!!
My girls have that teepee and they love it, they spend so much time in there. edie's room looks gorgeous
