Crafting through Quarantine

Yes - The garlic and crosses are still a-hanging on my door. I must however have an element of the unnnatural about me -I'm still all clear. (see my last post if you need to be put in the loop). Amidst it all I managed to get a little sanity craft in. You see prior to the vomit fest that has been my life - I managed a cheeky little op-shop adventure. Can you believe my excitement in discovering a 30m roll of vintage vinyl?? Dunc did ask what the hell I would need with 30m of the stuff - but I felt supported when the lovely lady at the counter proclaimed 'At that price, how could you leave it??' Ah ... understanding and support is a beautiful thing. So using an A4 piece I made a wee purse. Stoked. Could make 1000 more at this rate. Even got to use some of my favourite vintage buttons from my stash. I've got big plans for that roll of vinyl - purses, bags, notebooks ...Think I might even wallpaper the bathroom with some of it - trust me - it will be ace. And I also finished off a hair clip I've had kicking around on my desk for a while. Nothing like a bit of dodgy rough hand sewing in front of the tellie whilst waiting for washing load 6 of the day to finish it's cycle. I wore it today. I was unsure at first. What do you think? Good use of some flower details off a vintage sheet??.

Very chic...very tasteful.....
Looks great. By the way, I happen to have some rather dashing lime green velvet curtain fabric here is you're still interested - haven't washed them yet after taking them down (not game to!)

Top work Gemstar. Can I put in an order for a Lozanddinny vintage vinyl craft/pencil case? - or hack off a bit for me and I'll try and fashion one myself in your footsteps.

You're craftiness never stops.

OMG that vinyl is to die for! There's no way that you could possibly have left that behind.
I'm very impressed by that cute hair clip. Ingenious!

You know what? You could sew an above ground swimming pool with 30 metres (minus an A4 bit) of that exquisite vinyl. Or alternatively wallpaper your bathroom. Voting a definitive yes on the hairclip especially cos it's quirky - and I've sort of picked that up about you.

Did you know , when you bought it , just how quickly your world was going to turn green anyway ?
Meanwhile I'm really impressed by the crafting through thick and thin !

That green vinyl is too cool. Can I ask which are your favourite op shops?

Hi Gemma,

I'm adding myself to your quarantined list. Karma after I had such a chuckle at your previous post???

I've got the flu, hopefully just the garden variety type (am awaiting the swine results, oink! oink!).

Lucky I've got you to keep me company :)

LOVE the vinyl, and 30m, not a problem!!! years of lovely projects to come, and you'll think up so many wonderful ways to use it.
(have you considered a small giveaway for those of us who are lusting over the tiniest piece?!)

Hope you are all feeling better. News thismorning was that of a sample of people in Melbourne who thought they had standard flu, 99% had swine - and I think I'd take that any day over gastro. yikes!

I'm not a fan of sprays but after a recent visitor vomit at our house bought some oust spray. It's like glen20 and I sprayed it onto the carpet and smell is gone!
